Brief description of the position/Range of responsibility:
- This role is responsible for managing vehicle cooling system performance and key component tests within VCTC reporting to the EAF2(Thermal Management & Cooling); Responsibilities include planning and implementing testing programs to ensure compliance with project requirements and milestones.
Key tasks:
- Contribute to defining vehicle performance targets based on product specifications and project feature catalog
- Contribute to defining market specifications and requirements for cooling performance across different driving modes, aligning with vehicle and HV component needs.
- Responsible for cooling performance test as per VW specification like EP16500
- Plan and oversee vehicle cooling performance tests at different development stages.
- Conduct tests in wind tunnels, climate chambers, test tracks, or on public roads, adhering to local regulations and safety protocol
- Analyze results, prepare reports, and present findings. Complete acceptance tasks and generate release document (Freigabeblatt)
- Responsible for key component performance tests (cooling fan, radiator ect.) in in-house or at external test facilities.
- Support FOPs on supplier key component testing, audit and report review
- Generate reports and recommendations on cooling performance in collaboration with simulation and system design teams to meet vehicle targets.
- Establish a simulation-testing loop to calibrate models and streamline testing processes, reducing hardware test expenses.
- Issue analysis support: Vehicle road and durability testing regarding all the EAF components
- Support EAF in technical issues for acquisition of equipment, creation of specification books (LAH) for the activities above
- Cooperation with internal and external partners for the activities above
- Performing individual task-related duties in accordance with the knowledge and experience of the position holder.
- Advising other people holding positions at VCIC, its subsidiaries/associate companies, or cooperating organizations upon request and in consultation with the appropriate people responsible.
Qualification and skills:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in fields such as aerodynamics, thermal energy and power engineering, automotive engineering, or related disciplines
- Internship experiences is preferred.
- Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and physics etc. ;
- Possession of driver's license;
- Willingness to undergo training as needed in driving-related matters;
- Availability for domestic business trips (e.g., wind tunnel , winter test , summer test, road test);
- Knowledge of xEV thermal and cooling systems;
- Proficient in English; German proficiency is a plus;
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities;
- Familiar with agile working methods and Jira-System is a plus.
